Masoud Moghtaderi-Zadeh, Ph.D., PE

aDr. Zadeh was born and raised in Isfahan, Iran.  He attended public elementary & high schools in Isfahan & Tehran.  He earned his B.Sc. from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran (1976); M.Sc. from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois (1978); and Ph.D. from University of California, Berkeley, California (1982) - all in Civil/Structural Engineering. Dr. Zadeh has over 25 years of experience in business development, group management, project management, and engineering analysis and design.  He has worked for many corporations in the US, South Korea, Norway, Venezuela and in Iran.  Dr. Zadeh has held the positions of Sr. VP, VP, Director, and Technical Manager over the last 13 years.  His expertise includes risk and reliability engineering and earthquake & wind engineering. He has published more than 45 articles in scientific and engineering conferences and journals.  He is Licensed Professional Civil Engineer in California.  Dr. Zadeh lives with his wife, son and daughter in San Jose.  He enjoys spending time with family & friends and likes traveling, photography, and hiking.  He has been a member, active volunteer, past Honorary Director, and past President at SIP.

Ahmad Tehrani

bMr. Ahmad Tehrani has been actively working with SIP for 16 years.  He has been a treasurer, officer, a member on the board of directors, and after the revival of SIP in 2005, he served a second term as a member of the board.  He is now serving as the Chairman of the Board. Mr. Tehrani has also been active in other Iranian organizations like Peyvand, Dehkhoda, and was an active member of the unity task, which raised money for the Iran earthquakes.  He was also the Chairperson of the Able Project—a non-profit organization helping people with disabilities all over the US access resources and equipment.   Professionally he has worked as a financial advisor for more than 20 years, with different companies such as Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley, and is currently a VP at H&R Block Financial Advisors.  Mr. Tehrani received  an BA in accounting in Tehran and his MBA in economics and finance as well as an MA in International Studies both from Fairleigh Dickinson University, New Jersey.  He enjoys travelling, sports, music, and working with the Iranian community.

Yeganeh Mashayekh

cBorn and raised in Tehran, Iran, Yeganeh Mashayekh received her B.Sc. from University of Nebraska – Lincoln (2000) in Civil and Environmental Engineering and her M.Sc. from University of California – Berkeley (2002) in Transportation Engineering. While at Berkeley, Yeganeh also finished the Management of Technology Program at Haas School of Business. She is currently working as a Senior Transportation Consultant with many of the public agencies in the Bay Area as well as Southern California. Her specialty is in Traffic Engineering and Intelligent Transportation Systems.  Yeganeh has published and presented a number of papers in the past few years among which she has been awarded the best ITE (Institute of Transportation Engineers) 2007 Young Members Award for her paper called “Bad All-Red Time = Recipe for Disaster”.   Yeganeh has been an active member of the community for the past 10 years. She has served as a volunteer, officer, consultant and a board member for many organizations including but not limited to TRANSOC (President), ZVenue (Board Member & Vice-President), CalIran (Founder) and currently Orange County Traffic Engineering Council (Board Member). Yeganeh has a vast experience in non-profit laws and regulations in the State of California; from bylaws to incorporating and acquiring 501(C)(3) status, Yeganeh has assisted many organizations establishing their non-profit business successfully.  In her free time, Yeganeh enjoys event planning, traveling, reading, skiing and she is passionate about food and fine restaurants.

Mahmoud Moe Amouzgar

dBorn in Iran in April of 1962, Moe received his B.Eng. (electrical) from McGill University in Montreal, Canada in 1989 and his M.Sc. (Software Engineering) from SMU in 2000. Moe has been working for high-tech companies in the telecommunications field for the last 18 years.

Moe has been an active member of the community and has served as a volunteer for many non-profit organizations in the past. Moe became a member of SIP in 2007 and have been serving as an appointed officer since then. In his free time, Moe enjoys traveling, cooking, and Iranian traditional music.

Shahriar Motie

eShahriar has been a member of SIP since 1998 and ever since has enjoyed its contribution to the Iranian Community in the BayArea. Since 2005 Shahriar has served as an officer and is currently serving as a Board member of Anjoman. He believes the best gift of SIP to its members is the ever lasting friendships and close bond to the Iranian-American community.
Shahriar left Iran in 1980, finished High School in NY, and got his BS in Mgmt of Information Systems from the University of San Francisco and has been working in the Semiconductor field as a Physical Chip Designer for the past fourteen years. He enjoys community work, hiking, soccer, traveling and being with friends and family.

Mansour Fardanesh, Ph.D.

Dr. Fardanesh has been involved with SIP for the last 10 years as member, volunteer, officer, and board member. Before getting elected to the SIP board, he served as an officer in charge of the social activity operation. He was also very active in speaker selection committee.

Dr. Fardanesh is a director of engineering in a start up company in San Jose . His areas of expertise include wireless communications, DSP, and video and image compression. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Purdue University .

Mitra Mehrban

fBorn in Tehran, Mitra left Iran to pursue her education in USA where she was able to pursue her undergraduate, graduate and post graduate degrees in Engineering, Applied Statistics, and Computer Science from universities of Florida and Georgia.  She moved to Connecticut in 1991 and finally moved to San Francisco Bay area in June 2006.  She has been a member of the Society of Iranian Professionals in Bay area since July 2006.  Prior to her relocation she served on the Board of Directors and was Vice President of Foundation of Iranians of Connecticut (KANOON IRANIAN Connecticut) from 1996 till May 2006, organizing Nowrouz and other Iranian festival celebrations, and fundraising for victims of Bam earthquake and Farsi school in New Haven.  Currently she is employed by Genentech Inc. in South San Francisco and was previously employed by Pfizer Global Research & Development in New London, Connecticut as Associate Director in Statistical Analysis and Reporting till May 2006.  In her free time, she enjoys community work, hiking, swimming, music, traveling and spending time with her friends, sister, and youngest nephew.

Sara Hojjat

gSara Hojjat immigrated to California in 2000.  She attended De Anza College and transferred to San Jose State University where she received her B.S in Electrical Engineering.  Sara has been working at Cisco Systems as a hardware engineer responsible for optical development testing for over three years.  In her free time, she likes to play soccer, swim, go to comedy shows, and cook.  She enjoys volunteer work and being active in the Iranian community. 

Foroogh Ziaei

kForoogh Ziaei has passion for human rights, Iranian community, its strength and unity. She is pleased of her volunteer work for community in her free time. She actively participates in cultural, humanity and educational activities. She served in SIP as officer and VP for past two years.

Foroogh graduated in Medical technology in Iran. She had done research on lung disease in Shahid Beheshti (Meli) University and International Institute of Tuberculosis and Long Disease for three years. She is specialist in biotechnology and has experience in biotech lab equipment industry as sales manager and start up research & clinical lab consultant. In 2000, Foroogh moved to US and received her Clinical Lab Scientist California license.  Currently she works in Hitachi Chemical Diagnostics Inc. as a process-engineering scientist and clinical reference lab specialist.  She enjoys reading, hiking, yoga, dance, music, social activities and spending time with family & friends. She loves traveling and new experiences!

Masoud Keshmiri

oBorn in Isfahan and raised in Tehran, Iran, Masoud Keshmiri received his B.S. from California State Universiy, Sacramento (1992) in Electrical Engineering. Masoud moved to San Jose, CA in Nov 1992 and has been residing there ever since. Masoud joined SIP in 2005 as a volunteer, served as an officer in 2006 and 2007 and was elected the president of SIP in January 2008.

On the more personal note, Masoud enjoys playing volley ball, racquet ball and soccer.


Reza (Ray) Mazaheri

dfRay Mazaheri was one of six children born in Iran. He made his first real estate investment at the age of 14. He purchased a piece of property under his parent's name, but he negotiated the transaction, put up the cash and got the seller to carry some financing. Within six months he paid the seller in full and had made a tidy $6,000 US. He then sold the property and purchased more. He learned at a young age the vast potential of real estate. When Ray came to the United States, he attended Oklahoma N.E. College and graduated with a degree in Chemistry and a minor in Mathematics. He relocated to the Bay Area where he ran his own business and decided in 1988, with the encouragement of his family, to go into real estate. Ray has been actively and successfully pursuing this business since then.  Ray is currently an active member of SIP and serves as one of the its elected Officers.   He enjoys community work and networking and socializing.

Mike Bakhshi

jjkkBorn and raised in Iran, Mike moved to The Bay Area, CA in 1997 at the age of 28.  He is a firm believer of life being all about being there for your family, friends and community at large.  Regardless of his level of service at SIP as a volunteer, officer and board member, Mike believes in team work as the stepping stone to our organization’s positive growth and success.  Among other outdoor activities such as biking, hiking and skiing, lately endurance running, fundraising and being part of a solution to find cure for blood cancer has become his way of life.
